Agility Drills for Football – Feet Shuffle/Mirror Drill
These agility drills for football emphasize maintaining proper football stance, watching opponents’ chest, not crossing feet, mirroring your opponent, and navigating over obstacles.

Offensive Line/Defensive Line
Begin with dividing your group into two equal lines and pair up the linemen to face each other across from a line. Place two cones on the line twenty yards apart. Provide a football to one of the linemen.
• Have the linemen start from the 2 point ready stance facing each other
• Maintain 1-2 yards apart
• On the whistle the two linemen start at one cone and shuffle down the line to the other cone, mirroring each other, passing the football (into the chest) back and forth to each other across the line, while maintaining a good football stance:
- Butt down
- Back straight
- Head up eyes focused on the chest of their opponent
- Shoulders parallel to the line
- Holding both hands in front of themselves with their fingers up ready to catch and pass the ball back to their partner
- Never crossing their feet
• Once the Players reach the 2nd cone they return shuffling back to the starting cone.
• The line football coach is ensuring that hands are held up, that good stances and proper footwork are being maintained the entire time
• For added difficulty place a few bags in the path of the linemen so the linemen have to step over the bags without looking down and without dropping the ball.
