I’m often asked for advice on best football plays. Here’s a simple football coaching tip that will pay huge dividends with your team.
From Mark…
Here’s a football play I used regularly with great success last season. No matter how many times teams saw it on film, few were really prepared for it.
The idea is to huddle your football team as normal before a kick off. As soon as the referee blows the whistle, the kicker turns and runs toward the ball, kicking it straight ahead along the ground the necessary 10 yds. The rest of the team remains bunched and the outside 4 push out and block the first opponent they see. The inside 6 run past the kicker and block anyone approaching the ball. The kicker recovers the ball and we are set up 1 and 10 on the opponents side of the field.
Because of the alignment of the KOR team, we usually only have to block 2-3 people and because the referee has just blown the whistle, most of time the KOR team is still getting themselves set.
We performed it 6 times this past season and got the ball 5 times.
