During our conditioning camp last spring one of the favorite [tag]conditioning drills for football[/tag] was a game called Ultimate Football. This is a fast paced [tag]football drill[/tag]/game that emphasizes passing, receiving and pass defense, as well as conditioning.
Here are the rules:
Pick teams dividing them as evenly by talent as possible.
Kick-off or throw-off, then receiving team moves up the field by pass only. Passes can be forward, backward, or lateral.
Once a pass is completed, the receiver has to stop where the [tag]football[/tag] was caught and he becomes the passer. Play continues until there is a score, an incompletion, or interception by the defense. An incompletion or interception turns the ball over to the other team going the other way. We allow the defense 5 seconds to reset after a turnover.
Fast transition is the key to scoring. Pass interference counts as a completion for the offense.
