Youth Football Coaching Drills – Read & React Drill
I do have some success stories for youth football coaching drills. This is one drill we do that keeps everything fun for practice. It seems to have a good response from the kids.
Football Practice Plans – Circle of Life & Tulsa Drill
During our spring practices, right after our initial stretching/warm-up period at the beginning of practice we have a 5 minute period we call the “Circle of Life” that we got from watching the Florida Gator football practices.
Youth Football Drills – Statue of Liberty
While I was coaching the little guys, kids 9-10 years old, and I found that mixing teaching with a game is a good way to end your football practice. Of all the youth football drills we did, one of them the kids seemed to enjoy we called the Statue of Liberty.

These are good football defensive drills to work on reading and reacting while at the same time being good conditioning drills for all players.

These ideas on coaching football are really for older players, like high school and up. This is a combination football conditioning drill but also a drill that develops leadership on your team and mental toughness.
