Flag Football Drills – Youth Flag Football Drill
When coaching 6, 7, and 8 year olds flag football I like to do flag football drills that involves the center, QB, and receivers.
The receivers line up on the side as if they were going out for a pass. Any pass. (This can be changed up.)
QB calls his cadence and they run the football play. Once the receiver runs his route the play is over. Instead of the receiver going back in line he now plays as a linebacker. As soon as the football is snapped he rushes the QB trying to block the pass not to touch the QB.
I have found that this helps to keep the QB focused on the receiver but also knows there is someone after him. It also keeps everyone involved. You can also have the center try to block the linebacker.
