Football Agility Drills – Spin Drill

Here are a couple of football agility drills that we use often in practice.  After using these in practice you will see a notable improvement come game time!

The first one is a spin drill for the running backs and wide receivers.
3 players on each side and the player with the football needs to go through all of them and maintain his balance.  The 3 guys on each side are set up every 5 yards.  So it goes 1 guy on the left, then in 5 yards 1 guy on the right and so on.

This next one is an agility drill.

The quarterback gets under center, takes the snap, performs a good 5 step drop. Then hitch steps forward angling to the right, then another 5 step drop. Repeat this weaving through a series of cones placed perpendicular to the play.

After the last drop the player throws to a target down field, then runs at a sprint to receive a hand-off properly from the football coach. Next he proceeds to run through a gauntlet of players trying to strip the ball.
