Football Coach Job – Hands Free

How this drill works – The [tag]defensive lineman[/tag] and offensive lineman will face off against each other in this [tag]football[/tag] [tag]drill[/tag].   The defensive lineman is going to push the offensive lineman’s hands out of the way.   The offensive lineman needs to avoid allowing the defensive players knocking their hands out of the way.

They need to stay in front of their players and they need to keep their hands extended in front of them to keep the defensive lineman at bay.   Neither player is trying to engage the other, but they are trying to gain the advantage with their hands.

Result – Keeping the hands free is an important part of being an offensive lineman.   By teaching players to naturally try to prevent the player in front of them from knocking the hands away, they will be able to build up the skill to fend on attackers.
