At the end of a good practice, allow the kids to spend 10 minutes or so scrimmaging each other playing the positions they want and running their own plays.   iI is a reward for very good practices and it motivates them to have a good [tag]football[/tag] practice.   It is also interesting to watch and see who the true leaders are at this time because there is no [tag]football coach[/tag] interference. The natural leaders take charge and make sure everyone gets involved.

Ultimately you get to see some creativity in their play calling and evaluate who has a real understanding for the game while a fun time is had by all.
