From Glen…
I choose to add a little competition to our exercises and warm up. I feel that these football drills are where speed agility and strength come from, but more importantly injury prevention by being in better shape and more fundamentally sound.

So, in order to motivate the kids, I work off of the reward system. The rewards can be anything ranging from a coupon for ice-cream, a comic book  or perhaps just recognition and praise. If we can instill the importance and reason for the football drills and exercises at a young age then by their high-school years we will have better athletes.

I re-emphasize faster, quicker, more agile, and more strong. Now I feel it important to say the aforementioned benefits are nice but a by-product of these characteristics are more secure and self-confident individuals, which consequently will last far beyond their athletic careers.
