Football conditioning drills used to be one of the biggest weaknesses in my repertoire.  But I was able to turn it around by using this idea.Football Conditioning Drills

Machine Gun Technique Drills
Machine Gun drills can be used to reinforce any skill where players need lots of reps.  I have used this football drill technique for many different types of blocking situations and tackling angles.  The drill can be 1 v 1, 2 v 2,or any combination that works for the number of players that you have.  This is a great way to integrate conditioning into the main body of football practice as well.

Here is one example using a defensive and four offensive lineman.
One D-lineman is set up between two cones 2 yards apart.  An O-lineman sets up in the center position.  The players are head up on each other.  Once the O-lineman snaps the football, the D-linesman works specific technique (there are several) to get to the ball that was snapped.  Once the ball is touched by the D-linesman the drill stops and another O-linesman comes in.

The same player stays in defensive until he has matched up against all four offensive lineman. The defensive player exchanges places with one of the offensive players and the drill resumes.
