This is a great [tag]conditioning[/tag] drill, but it is also a good [tag]football drill for wide receivers[/tag] to help them maintain focus while running crisp [tag]pass[/tag] routes.
What you need – Two QB’s and a coach should be feeding balls between routes. You will need a line of [tag]wide receivers[/tag].
How this drill works – Two QB’s will be dropped back, the first one will start by passing a hitch to the wide receiver (then the coach gives him another ball), then the second [tag]receiver[/tag] hits the hook pattern (then [tag]coach[/tag] gives him another ball). Then you go back to the first QB again, who is going to hit the go route (at 15 yards), then the next throw is to the post, next to the crossing route, and then the final pass will be made to the comeback route over the middle.
Each time the QB will alternate, and the coach will give them balls in the backfield. After the throw, the QB must reassume the proper throwing position to get ready for their next pass. Improper preparation means inaccurate throws.
The receiver will catch 6 balls, and this [tag]drill[/tag] should be done at full speed.
Result – Passing accuracy for QB’s on selected routes, and good work on hands and conditioning for receivers.
