Football Lineman Drills – Game Simulation
If you’re looking for some new football lineman drills, give this one a try. This football drill quickly turns into teaching linemen to pull and to make the decision to kick out or seal the defensive player. It is one or our favorites; it is quick, decisive and gives your football players a definite advantage.
1) Create a simulated field width of 10 yards; 3 offensive (2 linemen and 1 back), 3 defensive (to start)
2) Stand behind the defense and direct the ball carrier where to go by pointing to the hole. Offense knows the play, defense reacts.
3) Progress to telling the offense the snap count and who to block by hand signals…make sure your defense doesn’t cheat by looking back.
I also try and get the defensive players to see if the offense is tipping the play by the way they line up/stance.

Try this idea for helping bringing your teams together as a team. After every football practice get together, like most teams, and say some things positive about the team.
I basically just ask to see if somebody would like to say something like a positive comment or something that happened that helped us as a team. It starts with a few positive comments from a couple of players. It is contagious you will see your entire team start to voice different positive comments about the team and how practice went great.
This is a good team spirit building exercise to help build up your team unity.
