We do a football drill that we call Lord of the Boards.
It involves everyone one on the team and teaches them to fire out a drive block.
You line up 2 men head to head.
Both players are offense.
We put a cone 5 yards behind each player and a thin board between their legs to make sure they keep a wide base. On a predetermined count both players explode off the ball and try to drive the player to the cone behind him.
If the player steps on or over the board or gets driven back to the cone he loses. After each set of players go you split them up into the winning and losing group. Then you have the winning group go against each other until you get down to the last one who is named Lord of the Boards.
We do this once a week and all we have to say is Who wants to be Lord of the Boards and the kids go nuts!
