Football Practice Drills – Lone Ranger Drill
If you’re looking for fresh ideas for football practice drills, try this football drill; it is called the Lone Ranger Drill.
Objective – Teach hand-eye coordination and basic receiving skills.
Action – Position 4-5 receivers on a line and have them face a lone receiver positioned about 10-15 yards from them. Give one football to the lone receiver and one football to one of the others.
The football receiver drill begins with the lone receiver throwing a pass to a receiver in the line. At the same time, the receiver with the ball in line passes to the lone receiver. Keep this cycle up for a sufficient amount of reps, then slide everyone sideways until each player has a chance to be the “Lone Ranger”.
Coaching Details – Make sure each receiver is hooking the ball in and catching with their hands.
