Last week, I sent out a request for my newsletter subscribers to send in their favorite football special teams drill. Check out this one below (very creative!).
From Jason…
A football special teams drill:
Have your FG team stand on the sideline. The football coach stands in the middle of the field around the 15 yard line. He throws the football into the air and when it hits the ground he begins counting down from 10 seconds.
The FG team has 10 seconds to get to the ball, line up, and kick the game winning FG. This incorporates the sense of urgency you may experience at the end of the game with no timeouts left.
To add a sense of pressure, you can say that if the kick is missed, the whole team runs a lap, if it’s good- the COACH will run a lap! That is the closest you can come to the real pressure a kicker will face in a game.
