This [tag]football spread offense[/tag] drill focuses on teaching the inside trap whether for the wing T or the spread; backs have to read “feet in the hole”.

A 50 front will normally have a noseguard and feet in the hole.   The peel will take place on the offensive side of the [tag]football[/tag] with the double team at the nose and the peel by the back immediate – this is know as feet in the hole.

In a 60 or 40 front using this [tag]football drill[/tag] there will be no feet in the hole and the peel will be 1 to 1.5 yards on the defensive side of the ball.   The back must hit the hole quick and peel just past the line of scrimmage as the peel will be behind the down block by the OT on the ILB.

Also, on any outside toss/option/sweep play be sure to align with tight splits and coach the refs for the clipping zone to be enforced as “4 yards either side of the ball” and not tackle to tackle as they like to do.

The rule reads 4 yards and will allow for a down block by the wing or H without the clipping/block in the back call.
