Football Training Drills – Pass, Ball, Bingo
Are you looking for new ideas for football training drills? You’ve come to the right place! Try out this idea below and let me know how it goes for you.
It’s called Pass, Ball, Bingo.
This football drill is to be done with linebackers and secondary players. Have one line with the players and a football coach or QB 20 yds. away facing the line of players.
QB drops back, 1st player charging the QB, yells “pass”. 2nd player trails several yrds. behind, QB throws toward 1st player, he yells “ball”. 1st player tips ball high into the air, 2nd player picks the ball yelling BINGO! indicating he has intercepted the football.
This teaches secondary to get to the ball and to be ready for it even if you do not have an initial shot at the ball. It also reinforces simple communication that allows for the entire defense to be aware of what is happening on the field. When the defense hears that word BINGO! they now know that they are the offense and it’s time to start blocking someone.
