I got the inspiration for this football coaching tip from David, one of my subscribers. It includes some fresh ideas on free conditioning drills for football athletes. Try them out and let me know what you think!
From David…
Here’s my idea to contribute to the football drills–PASS PRO and CONDITIONING
Set two cones about 3yds apart.( usually on a yard line on football field)
An offensive linemen lines up in front of the line in a two or 3 point stance.
A defensive linemen is across from him with a line of scrimmage.
The o-lineman will choose when to pop up in pass pro stance.
The Defender will attack and try to cross the line.
The o-line will try to keep him out of the cone area by punching and sliding his feet.
If the defender crosses the line he travels around the cone and tries to cross the line again. The o-line man will try to stop him again.
If the O-lineman keeps the defender from crossing the line and runs him by the cones then he releases and lets the defender come around the cone and begin again.
This is usually timed for 30 seconds. It wears out both players as they try to cross or stop him from crossing.
I love to use this football conditioning drill to see who is a fighter and has a desire to beat the guy across from him.
