If you’re looking for [tag]fun football drills[/tag] for your team, here’s a fun [tag]football drill[/tag]–one that kids love, even 17 years old!

  • Create a square with 4 cones 10 yards apart.
  • Split your team in 4 equal groups.
  • Place one group on each side of the square and name them: A-B-C-D.
  • A is facing B while C is facing D. Defense and Offense may be mixed together, (helps with team spirit)

Throw the [tag]football[/tag] to one player of group A.
The whole group now starts to run and must then run the ball forward while the B group tries to stop them (Tackle the ball carrier). If they cross the line, it’s a TD! Get the ball and throw it to one of the players of either of the other 2 groups, and so on.

It is a great, fun drill that helps the kids to learn to follow their lead block. It helps with the improvisation of team work (Like when recovering a fumble) and it gets the ball to players who do not usually touch it, which is always nice.

We run this maybe once a week as a reward.
