Pat, one of my subscribers, came up with his own set of offensive football signals to enhance communication on the football field. Keep ‘em coming!Offensive Football Signals

From Pat…
We have been working on a way that we might communicate our offensive calls without confusing signals and without too much verbage.

My OC and I have been hashing this out for a few months. We have run through the gambit of color number and states and found things were too complicated or insufficient. We have landed on a pretty good system that is not too hard to remember and works for everything we do.

We will call 2 sets of 2 digit numbers.  The first set of numbers will tell everybody the blocking scheme and the snap count. The second set of numbers will define the series, gives our FB his alignment, the backs and receivers any motion and the play out of that series.

That gives us 10 different football blocking schemes and 100 different football plays–giving us the potential for 1000 different calls.

For Example:
31, 52 = zone read
3 = tells the line to block zone left
1 = snap count
5 = zone read
2 = FB aligns right, QB reads right edge,
left half has 3 step motion

We were not trying to re-invent the wheel; we were looking for an easy way to communicate on the football field.
