hi, I coach middle school football and having problems with getting the guys to hit and not worry about getting hurt, I mean we’re in pads and all but they still are thinking twice about hitting, should have a good team if we can get them going, any suggestions or drills?
Hi Jermile,
The biggest key to helping kids handle contact is teaching them the proper fundamentals – this will help them become more confident and understand that if they use the proper technique, they have much less chance of getting hurt. Here’s some more info on safe tackling and safe blocking. You can also browse the blog for more tips and drills… hope that helps!

Hey Steve,
My team has not scored a 2 point conversion all season and have lost games by 2 points or less. We have yet to stop a 2 point conversion, unless the other team drops the pass. What is a simple and high effective 2 point conversation play?
We recently released an online clinic called Scoring in the Red Zone that has lots of specific strategies you can use from inside 20 yards, including many plays ideal for 2 point conversions. I’d recommend checking that out!
