From Ron…
I’m currently coaching a 5th grade football team. I try to keep my football practices fun and challenging for them. I’ve got a leg work football drill for my team. I call it Last Team Standing.

Break up your whole team into 5 or 6 teams, depending on how many kids you’ve got on the team, with a mixture of players on all teams.

Don’t stack one with all speed. You’ll need 6 tackling dummies, one for each team (weight 5 LBS) for younger kids, You can use heavier dummies for older kids. Mark off 30 yds on the field. One player from each team will carry the dummie 30yds and back.  Each player on the team will do this. Next round each player will do leg lunges 30 yds and back.  Next round they run backwards both ways.  If any player falls down while doing these sprints their team is out.

Keep repeating these 3 rounds until one team is left standing. Usually doesn’t take long for there to be a winner with young kids.
