Last week, I sent out a request for my newsletter subscribers to send in their best [tag]youth football coaching tips[/tag]. Check out this one below (very creative!).
From Bob…
We ran our off-season [tag]football[/tag] camp on the same days as our grade school clinic. The varsity players came in an hour early to be with the grade-schoolers and to help them with our 7 on 7 [tag]football drill[/tag].
Each position on offense and defense had a varsity player guiding and coaching the grade-schoolers through the drill. We wanted the varsity to be talkative in their pre-snap and post play help given to the player at their position.
The grade-schoolers liked the idea of being coached by players they looked up to. The varsity football players found out that the best way to re-enforce their learning was to teach it and the camp [tag]football coach[/tag]es got an opportunity to do more “over-seeing” rather then being trapped in just one phase of the 7-7. This helped them better understand the system rather then just a part of it.
