Here are a couple of [tag]youth football drills[/tag] to try with your youth teams. The first is a [tag]fumble recovery drill[/tag] we run at practice. The second is a good [tag]football drill[/tag] for running backs, especially the younger players.

First to the Ball Fumble Recovery Drill
The object of this drill is to be the first to fall on the [tag]football[/tag]. Two Players lie on their back with feet touching the cones. The coach blows the whistle and tosses (rolls, bounces) the football between, or in front of, the two players. The players fight for the ball (push, stiff arm) till one player recovers (falls on the ball, teaching them not to pick up the ball).
3 Step Cut Drill
The object of this drill is to get players (running backs) to make cuts on their outside foot.
Stagger the cones about 3 yards apart. The running back will start at the first cone with a ball, going ½ speed at first, then full speed making each cut at the cone. You can also add switching the ball from one arm to the other at each cone
