Looking for ideas for youth football practice plans? You’ve come to the right place! Try out this idea below and let me know how it goes for you.
From Danny,
We call this football drill The Gauntlet.
We line up cones opposite 4 lines of players about 10 yards wide, and 10 yards deep (and have 2 touchdown cones at the end).
Our first line has running backs, next 2 lines linemen and the last line defensive backs or running backs.
We give the ball to the football player in the first line, and they have to get by the next 3 waves of runners to score. If it’s young players the playing field doesn’t have to be too wide,(less chance of them running full speed, and hurting someone).
We do this at the end of football practice and the kids love it. You can switch it up and let the big men in the first line, if they want to run.
