Two of my subscribers actually suggested these football coaching tips to try at practice.  I’ve included them for you below.Football Coaching Tips

From Timothy…
Here’s a football drill I use with my receivers and tight ends to strengthen their hands and grip.  At least twice a week we do agility drills carrying a 10 lb bar bell.  They carry it chest high as they do cone drills, pass routes, star drill etc,  whatever we do for individual agility or warm up, they carry their 10 lb bar bell.  I watch over a season as our hand strength improved and so did our catching.  It really works.

From Jason…
I have two football conditioning drills.

Up the Hill
Players pair up and stand in front of a small hill. The second player grabs hold of the first players shirt (in the back) and the first player tries to run up the hill while their partner is resisting their progress. This is a tough football drill that teaches running hard, improves leg drive, and is great for conditioning.

Perfect Play
One of our conditioning drills is a perfect play drill on offense. Everything must be perfect, from huddle to play call to breaking the huddle to running the play against dummies. Nothing can be wrong. After the block the lineman must sprint 10 yds. The skill positions sprint 25 yds. and the ball carrier or receiver must score. If any coach thinks its not perfect it must be done again. We ill do 4-6 of these in a session.
