Tamara emailed me and sent this [tag]flag football practice[/tag] [tag]drill[/tag] to try. Great for all ages. Check out the [tag]conditioning[/tag] drill from Kenny that works for all [tag]football[/tag] players.
From Tamara,
Since I am a [tag]coach[/tag] of [tag]flag football[/tag], little guys, flag pulling is an essential drill.
Mark off an area and go one on one. The catch; big guys, against little guys. This gives the big guys practice against speed, and the little guys confidence(which they really need) to go up against size.
From Kenny,
Instead of running 40 yard [tag]sprints[/tag] we instead set up about a 5 to 7 yard spot on a steady incline…not too steep but steep enough to be a challenge after running about 8 to 10 fast paced sprints out of the ditch.
Near the completion of [tag]practice[/tag], we would blow the whistle and announce “ditchwitches!”
The players knew practice was ending and these short burst sprints were welcome to the bigger kids not having to toil through the embarrassment of lagging far behind on the 40 yard dashes and are an excellent conditioning drill.
In the 4th quarter of games it really showed as we would seem to always be stronger and pull ahead in the close games and we credit the ditch witch drill with our superb conditioning.
