Many coaches are searching for [tag]team building[/tag] activities for their teams. Here is a [tag]football coaching tip[/tag] that Mike sent in. Very creative!
From Mike
Teambuilding Activity –
I took a 10 ft long, fairly heavy duty chain to [tag]football[/tag] [tag]practice[/tag] last year. All the boys were wondering what the chain was for!
I asked for two members to grab an end of the chain and stretch it out to full length. Then I asked them to pull like tug of war, the next step was to put a few of the bigger boys on each end and repeat the tug of war with more players.
The point to make here is this; the chain is very strong and cannot be broken even by the strongest players. Each [tag]player[/tag] represents a [tag]vital[/tag] Link of the chain. The chain is the [tag]team[/tag]. Point out that no matter where you pulled the chain it was equally strong and can not be broken. Explain that if for some reason a link did break another Link (player) can be substituted to reattach all of the links. If everyone acts as a link in the chain, pulling his own weight, the result is winning.
This made a pretty good impact on our players as they recalled the Chain several times during the season!
