From Donnie…
A football conditioning tip that is working very well with my team is-
We separate the boys into Group A, Group B, and Group C.
Group A- is our offensive/defensive lineman, our big boys
Group C- is our burners, our fastest players, receivers, running backs, defensive backs
Group B- is everyone in between- linebackers, quarterbacks, fullbacks
Whatever conditioning we are doing it is set up differently for A, B, and C, so that each player gets maximum results. Think about it. 20 yard sprints are harder for Group A athletes than Group C athletes.
So for sprints, Group B lines up 10 yards behind Group A. And Group C is 5 yards farther behind Group B. For hills, Group A starts at the base of the hill, Group B starts about 10 yards from the base of the hill, and Group C starts about 15 yards from the hill.
The entire team is still doing the same conditioning drill, but all players are getting the same hard work out depending on their body type.
