Here are my [tag]youth football practice[/tag] drills.   You know when you get to the end of [tag]football[/tag] practice and you have tackling dummies, bags, and arm shields all over the field? We also have 4 other grades sharing them too, so that just amplifies the disbursement.

What we do every now and then, is that for the end of practice wind sprints we have the boys gather up all the tackling dummies, bags, and arm shields.   They get to place the bags anywhere in the sprint area and then we race similar groups (mainly line and backs, but you
could segregate as many groups as you need).   The reason we do this is because it is a better gauge of field speed.   Rarely do we get open field with no barriers to avoid or move across.

Benefits of these drills:
1)   This gets the bags cleaned up in a hurry (which is good when the fall nights grow shorter).
2)   It is something other than wind sprints…probably harder, but don’t tell the boys because
3)   They have fun mixing it up and
4)   Creates open competition to turn in the better time
5)   It keeps their eyes focused down field
6)   And their head moving side to side
