I was at practice last night used this suggestion for a [tag]football offensive blocking[/tag] [tag]drill[/tag] that was sent to my by one of my readers. Keep em coming!  Football Offensive Blocking

From Chuck,
Square Drill

4 cones 10 yard square
Entire team around the square
One player is a oOffensive line
One player is a Defensive line
One player is a Running Back with a ball

On cadence the [tag]offensive line[/tag] fires off, hits the [tag]defensive line[/tag] and drives them out of the square. Once they have done that the O line is finished and leaves the square. D line then has to [tag]tackle[/tag] the running back.

Most of the time the O line will not drive the man out of the square. It becomes a tough [tag]football[/tag] [tag]blocking[/tag] drill for the O line.     You can also work the D line on swim, rip etc to get to the ball carrier. The [tag]running back[/tag] must learn to follow his [tag]blocker[/tag] by staying on the butt of the offensive line. Outside players are routing for their guy.
