Looking for [tag]football drills[/tag] for [tag]football linemen training[/tag]? You’ve come to the right place! Try out this idea below and let me know how it goes for you.
From Bob…
We have a [tag]football drill[/tag] we call Wall Ball.
It consists of a Medicine Ball 8- 12 pounds made of Rubber, can be more or less depending on the level of your athlete.
We need a strong wall, cement is preferred, we do it in our [tag]football[/tag] stadium.
The offensive lineman pass sets in front of the wall, 2-3 feet away from the wall. We use a right and a left foot stance. In his pass set he has the Med Ball in both hands at the proper position to Pass Pro.
He then pushes the ball towards the wall as hard as he is capable; this will improve with practice, and he must be prepared as the ball will come right back to him.
He stays in his strong pads set, knees bent, head back, so it becomes a bit of a conditioner also. As soon as the ball comes back to him he punches it towards the wall again.
We do 3 sets of 10 and then we switch the post foot and do it again. It is easy for me to watch their demeanor, to keep their knees bent, to keep the head back, and to keep the back flat.
At the same time I am working on the aggressive punch and reset and punch again needed for our Pass Pro.
