This is one of the [tag]linebacker football drills[/tag] I use a lot. It is a defensive back/linebacker [tag]football drill[/tag]. Often my [tag]football[/tag] players have problems with making big shots, and I had to convince them that big hits are great and VERY effective.
One guy sits with a football. Five yards back he has three square fields, where he ends his drills. The other guy, starts going back on signal, and then starts running toward the guy who sits as he stands up.
The trick is – guy who was siting is safe in the squares, so the other guy has to tackle him fast(most probably – jumping). This is great fun for all my players!
Another favorite for [tag]football practice[/tag] is this Quarterback/Receiver Drill. This drill has improved timing, accuracy, and area in which ball is thrown. Roughly this is a 30 minute drill for our team.
Line cones up at 5, 10, and 15 yards
Put a defender on each cone and on the starting line.
Receiver begins running 5 yard route, gets bumped at line and at cone while making cut.
QB throws ball to area in which receiver is suppose to be.
Continue each football drill until each cone is completed.
