While I was coaching the little guys, kids 9-10 years old, and I found that mixing teaching with a game is a good way to end your football practice. Of all the youth football drills we did, one of them the kids seemed to enjoy we called the Statue of Liberty.

Set a game area of approximately 20 yds wide by say 40-50 yds long.
Name a couple of players to the middle.
Line up the rest of the kids on one side.
The aim of the game is to cross the field without being touched.

The players in the middle try to touch as many players as possible.
Once a player is touched you are no longer allowed to move – you turn into a Statue.
The other kids then have to maneuver around the frozen players to get to the other side.
Its is fun and at the same time allows you to work on the footing, change of directions and fakes.
